Estimated monthly premium — 20-year term, age 30, non-smoker. A planning band, not a quote: your age and health class move this more than anything else.
🛡️ Get Covered Today
Term life insurance is often cheaper than people expect. Quotes depend on your age, health, and each insurer's underwriting — compare a few offers before you choose.

The standard rule of thumb: 10× your annual income — but that doesn't tell the whole story. This calculator adds your debts (so your family isn't stuck with them), future expenses (college, etc.), then subtracts what you already have covered and your liquid savings. The result is a realistic coverage number, not a guess.
Term vs Whole Life: Most people only need term — published 2026 charts put whole life at 8-15× the premium for the same death benefit — and term covers you during the years your family depends on your income. Whole life builds cash value but costs significantly more. For pure protection, term wins.
Where the premium band comes from: $4–$9 per $100,000 of coverage per month. That is the overlap of two published 2026 sources — a rate study across 30+ A-rated carriers ($18.16–$33.80 a month for $500,000 of 20-year term at age 30, non-tobacco, by health class) and a carrier's own chart ($14–$23 a month for $250,000 of 20-year term at age 30, male non-smoker, average health), both accessed 26 September 2026. The calculator does not know your age, so this band assumes 30 and a 20-year term. It is not a quote, and the only way to get your real number is to apply.
